5 Main Pillars of Islam

1. Shahada: Shahada means the profession of faith. Faith teaches us that there is no God other than Allah. Also always remember Muhammad is the messenger of Allah.

2. Salat (prayers): Muslims should pray facing Qibla five times a day. The prayers have to be performed at dawn, noon, mid-afternoon, sunset and after dark.

3. Zakat: As per Islamic law, Muslims must donate a fixed portion of their earnings to the people who need it. It is the religious duty towards the needy ones.

4. Roza(fasting): Every healthy Muslim should fast during the daylight hours of the holy month of Ramadan. Ramazan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar in which all adult Muslims are required to abstain from food and drink.

5. Haj(Pilgrimage): Every financially stable Muslim must make at least one visit to the holy city of Mecca. The Ka’ba is believed to be the house of Allah made by Ibrahim.

7 Islamic Beliefs

1. Always have belief in the oneness of the Supreme and eternal and the most merciful Allah. Make sure to know him, love him and follow his rules of Islam for our own benefit and salvation.

2. Angels of Allah are pure beings. They fulfill all his commands and it is necessary that we have full faith in their existence and powers.

3. Muslims should always believe in the revelations in the form of the Quran, and the Torah.

4. All messengers and Prophets(like Muhammad, Adam, and Isa) were endowed by divine revelations of Allah. Have deep faith in them and obey their laws.

5. Believe in the day of Qayamat(judgment) and in Jannat and Dozakh.

6. Allah’s knowledge exists in all time and space.

7. There is resurrection after death. There is an eternal life after death that one faces after the judgment rendered to them by the Almighty.
